The annual Tarpon migration into Southwest Florida has begun. Lots of Tarpon have been filling up the waters of Pine Island Sound, Charlotte Harbor, and Boca Grande. It is still early in the migration and there are more fish showing up every day. The areas to the south like Sanibel and Captiva have lots of Tarpon right now. The fishing pressure is still pretty light and the fish have been happy. The only thing that gets in the good way of good fishing is when the wind blows too hard. Luckily we haven’t had too many days lost to the wind. We have been focusing on fly fishing and it has been excellent. We have been getting lots of shots every day and when one lines up just right with the right fish it usually results in a bite. The water temp is still under 80 degrees in Charlotte Harbor and Pine Island Sound which is a really good thing. That will keep the Tarpon happy and the water conditions clean. We are just getting started so if you want to get out and do some great Tarpon fishing let me know. 239 788-4120
